BMZ/GIZ Public Policy Award 2013
In connection with the 2013 Annual Congress of the International Institute of Public Finance (IIPF) in Taormina, Italy, IIPF and GIZ – on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) – are pleased to announce the BMZ/GIZ Public Policy Award 2013.
The award recognizes and supports research discussing issues of relevance for developing countries.
Two papers, out of all papers selected for presentation at the 2013 Annual Congress of the IIPF on the topic of The Role of the State in Growth and Development, were rewarded. Their selection was headed by the Chair of the Scientific Committee of the Congress, together with two members of the IIPF Board of Management and one GIZ representative.
The winners of the BMZ / GIZ Public Policy Awards 2013 were:

Marco Elías Cisneros Tersitsch (University of Bonn, Germany), Jorge Hargrave (Boston Consulting Group, Brazil), and Krisztina Kis-Katos(University of Freiburg, Germany) for their paper Unintended consequences of anti-corruption strategies: Public fiscal audits and deforestation in the Brazilian Amazon. |
